The tin rabbit propelled by the wind, I think watching it run away is so healing...
The following is a long development article:
The last design for the Mid-Autumn Festival was the aluminum canned jade rabbit lantern 6 years ago. This year, I wanted to make a Yude rabbit lantern, probably no bigger than the palm of your hand. I tried several methods of generating kinetic energy, including manual push, bellows and pure wind, but the effect was not very good. It was very difficult to take into account the shape, light, small size and dynamics of the lantern at the same time. I tried the fourth proto. It became very complicated and difficult to adjust, and the dynamics of the bunny running were also different, so I decided to start from the beginning.
With so many elements involved, what I most want to achieve is of course the dynamics of the rabbit running. I hope to use the wind to propel it. It can also be said to be the most direct way to generate kinetic energy. This way the structure can be simplified a lot (simplification is the most difficult... ). After abandoning the left bunch of pre-establishments, I concentrated on thinking about how to use the windmill to make the rabbit run.
In the beginning, the rabbit has four legs in three dimensions, and the windmill and the rabbit are at a 90-degree angle. The power of the windmill needs to be driven by gears to be able to rotate to the rabbit's feet, but at the same time it needs to push the four limbs. The windmill must be large enough. The position of the gears must be very accurate, because there is such a limited space to enter, simply speaking, it will not work...
The conclusion is that the windmill must directly rotate a mechanism, delete 3000 characters, and the final finished product uses the windmill to turn the turntable, and then push the turntable to make the dynamics of running forward.

I have always wanted to achieve the effect of a tin toy. The aluminum cans I used before were too thin. I boldly tried to cut open the moon cake tin can. I guess the effect of the tin is just right! I don’t need to use a large machine to process it. I’m so happy to try a recycled material🥲
Thank you so many friends who enthusiastically donated tin boxes, some are too beautiful to be willing to use🥹
