Tiger - Indie Press - Paper Khaki

Product Description

In the summer of 2014, the author and his family moved from city to the countryside. Not long after they moved in, a brown-gold cat named Tiger came to their garden. Tiger always hanged around at their garden as if it was her own place. Sometimes, she would take a nap or try to catch the birds there. As time goes by, a close bonding has been built between the family and Tiger. The author has never kept animals before, and Tiger made him feel the delicate emotions of animals for the first time. This picture book records how they met Tiger and their lovely time living together. The illustrations are painted with watercolors. The author likes watercolor as it can produce a wide range of color tone and create a sense of softness and lightness in paintings. This is also a medium that he is more familiar with. The drawings have different angles, near and far, to give different impact. The use of white space in paints also helps to create a calm atmosphere and leave room for imagination. The author has made a little trick on the cover. It consists a folding page that creates multiple scenes. Readers can open the folding page to find Tiger hiding in different area and looking for the way to their home, that is how the story begins. Multiple testing has been done from selection of paper, binding method and book size to ensure the book is in its best form and easy to read. The book is made of light coating paper, which can best show the softness and pastel color of watercolor paintings. OTA-Binding is chosen as the binding method so that the book can be lay flat. This allows readers to enjoy fully a total of 29 cross-page paintings. Last but not least, a package has been designed to protect the book as if their encounter is a precious gift.
