2021 Taiwan Mazu Calendar

Early this year, I began painting several pieces, which naturally evolved into the theme of ports and development for this year's calendar. Before I knew it, it was already time to send out the newsletter. From writing the copy, designing the visuals, to proofreading the data, the entire project was conceived as a complete work. Custom-designed sleeves and boxes were created to match the calendar's dimensions, ensuring a cohesive visual presentation. After printing, each piece was meticulously assembled by hand – threading, packaging, and shipping. Every detail was handled with care to express gratitude for everyone's enthusiastic support. The original intention behind creating this calendar was to promote traditional culture to a wider audience through design and modern media, while preserving the essence of faith. . Mazu has accompanied the people of Taiwan, establishing roots and spreading her influence step by step, truly embodying the spiritual mother of the Taiwanese people. Taiwan's journey of immigration and development began with fishing and trade, extending from coastal and riverine ports deep into the land, forming settlements, and eventually leading to organized governance and the establishment of cities. Zhu Zhu has selected 12 artworks reflecting the maritime trade routes and development of Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern Taiwan, listing historically significant Mazu-related events and festivals in each area, so you can keep up with Mazu's presence! .
