About the creation process.
Starting with a sketch, clay is shaped, dried slightly, and then refined through repeated steps. We produce enough to fill the kiln evenly over about a month. Bisque firing takes 7 hours, after which the pieces are wiped with water. Glaze is applied individually before the final firing, which lasts 12 hours. Some pieces receive a gold glaze and are fired again for 7 hours. As they require slow cooling, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is inspected, and a pin is attached to those that meet our standards. Currently, our success rate is around 70%.
Although it requires a significant amount of time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the strength of pottery, the luster of glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents.
We believe these are items that can be cherished for a long time, remaining just as beautiful.
