|About the Vessel|
Crafted from Japanese porcelain clay, its fine texture possesses a subtle translucence in ample light, offering a comfortable presence whether held or displayed.
Ding ware, commonly found in Song Dynasty ceramics, involves supporting the piece with high-temperature resistant fine stilts to achieve full glaze coverage. After firing and cooling, the stilts are removed, leaving behind small marks resembling sesame seeds, known as stilt marks.
This two-handled, three-footed censer is inspired by animals, featuring short, rounded, and full beast-like feet, complemented by slightly curled, playful handles, presenting a dynamic charm within its elegance.
