Using the traditional "hand-rubbed foil" technique found in Kyoto's Nishijin district, ink is applied to create a unique "silver foil" material that gives a sense of three-dimensional depth and shadow, creating the illusion of textured metal. As each piece is handcrafted, the resulting hand-rubbed silver foil is a material that is truly one-of-a-kind in the world. ◎Product Description The "shopper bag" is KENTO HASHIGUCHI's interpretation of the ubiquitous paper shopping bag, reimagined as a handbag. While retaining the appearance of a paper bag, it is constructed with the durability of a bag, featuring base studs and metal accents on the edges of the fabric. Like a paper bag, the handles are threaded vertically through circular openings in the fabric. The bag maintains the iconic form of a paper bag, yet is remarkably sturdy thanks to the base studs and the accent metal fittings at the corners.
