You can apply it to the less visible bottom / inside of the lid / interior of the box. The scent will still gradually diffuse. If the air humidity is higher than the diffuser stone, making the scent less noticeable, you can spray it with water after applying essential oil. The diffuser box can also be placed in drawers, wardrobes, or even contain solid perfumes or mothballs for various effects and some moisture-proofing.
