This is a round teardrop-shaped bowl covered in a slightly flowing, nuanced white glaze, with a light blue glaze applied on top to create a brushed pattern. I usually use red clay and white clay separately, but for this vessel I used a blend of the two. It is a mixture of both coarse and fine soil, giving it a soft texture while still retaining the earthen feel. The mixture of white and red clay gives the surface a gentle earthy color. Because it is a deep bowl, it can be used not only as a serving bowl, but also for rice bowls, noodles, etc. It has a rim, so it is easy to put your fingers on and easy to carry. The slightly irregular teardrop shape adds a subtle accent to your dining table. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and I do all of the processes by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing. It is a little heavy to hold, but that makes it feel like pottery. Although we cannot mass-produce them, each one has its own unique expression, and you can enjoy the flavor that comes from being made by hand.
