Introduction of works:
Alfred-Pierre Joseph Agache (1843 ~ 1915) was a French academic painter of the nineteenth century, and his biographical information is not much. We only know that he was born in Lille, France, and until his death, he regularly exhibited his works at the Paris Salon. He is good at portraits and large-scale mythological works. In 1885, he won the third prize. American painter Whistler (James Abbott McNeill Whistler, 1834~1903) was kind to him.
This portrait of Inpelia was published in the French art publication L'Estampe Moderne at the end of the nineteenth century (1897~1899). This monthly magazine published four prints every month, and finally assembled into a book, becoming France One of the representative publications of Art Nouveau is also a favorite of collectors today. The prints published in the publication have a profile portrait of a woman imprinted on the lower right corner.
This color stone plate of Ajiaxi takes a fashionable French woman as a model, with a slightly arrogant look, as if hiding his thoughts. On the back of the picture, there is a poem "Un Dahlia" by the French symbolist poet Paul Verlaine (1844~1896) in the 19th century.
