JUPITER-12 35mm F2.8 lens for Kiev Contax Bessa-2RC RF camera USSR Biogon 1985 - Cameras - Glass

Product Description

LZOS LITKARINO PLANT WIDE ANGLE JUPITER-12 35mm F2.8 LENS FOR KIEV & CONTAX RANGEFINDER CAMERAS ABOUT ITEM'S ORIGIN (You can SKIP it!) Jupiter-12 is a wide angle coated lens for Kiev Rangefinder cameras. This would, I am assured, fit both the Contax cameras as well. First 35mm Russian lenses for RF cameras (known as BK and ZK lenses) were created at KMZ plant on the base of of Zeiss and Leica equipment, which was imported to the USSR for production towards reparations after WW2. All the Soviet plants which issued photo equipment (include famous KMZ, LOMO and Litkarino plants) mostly issued military equipment, and little part only were for civil purposes, and those civil goods had enough high quality to receive World glory for best ratio price/quality. ITEM'S CONDITION: EXCELLENT+ The lens looks very accurately used before. The glass is very clean and will bring nice images, with no any scratches, separations or fungus, but sometimes you can find very minor cleaning marks. Aperture blades open and close smoothly, focusing is smooth too. Cosmetically lens is in fine condition... just examine item's photos, please. All functions are available. TECHNICAL FEATURES * Brand: LZOS. * Model: Jupiter-12. * Focus: 35 mm. * Angle of view: 63 degrees. * Relative aperture: 1:2.8. * Coated optics without Russian red symbol "n" (it sounds like P=prosvetlenije, this symbol was removed since beginning of 1960s, when all Russian optics became coated). * Mounting: Contax type external bayonet, applicable for Kiev RF cameras and for latest Bessa-2RC camera. * The lens with external bayonet have built-in focusing system and can be used with enough inexpensive adapter (below $100) with Micro 4/3 mount cameras and may be with some other cameras. But long rear part of the lens can bring the trouble at some cameras with it. * Optical registration 34.85mm. * Resolution (pairs of lines per 1 mm): not less than in the center and 18 on the edge of frame. * Filter mount: M 40.5 x 0.75 mm. * Black finishing. * Compact and light. * Made at Litkarino town near the Moscow city in 1985. THE ITEM COMES WITH Lens #8503680 Original front lens cap (with LZOS plant logo) Original rear lens cap ABOUT PHOTOS The item pictured is the actual item for sale.
