About the Production Process.
Starting with a sketch, the clay is shaped, allowed to dry slightly, and then refined through repeated steps. We craft enough pieces to fill the kiln evenly, a process that takes about a month. After a 7-hour bisque firing, the pieces are removed, wiped with water, and then individually glazed before an 12-hour firing. Some pieces receive a gold glaze and are fired again for 7 hours. As they require slow cooling, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is examined by hand, and the pins are attached to the successful ones. The current success rate is around 70%.
Although it requires a significant amount of time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the durability of pottery, the luster of glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents.
We believe this is an item that can be cherished for a long time, just as it is.
