The vase is then wood fired at high temperature. Wood firing is a traditional way of firing ceramics, involving using wood as the primary source of fuel. It takes days to fire at high temperature and is known for its unique and unpredictable effects on ceramic pieces, resulting in distinctive colors, textures, and glaze patterns. As the wood burns, it releases heat, flames, and ash. The flames and ash are drawn into the kiln's chamber and land on the pots to create unique coats for each work. No two pieces in a wood firing will be exactly the same. Marbling technique involves the blending of two contrasting clays to create swirling, stone-like patterns. Clays are layered, mixed, and shaped, with careful handling to preserve the design. Once fired, the result is a unique, striking finish. ◙ How to care Ceramics are fragile items, please handle with care.
