This is an SDGs ring featuring Kintsugi, an upcycled creation from Arita porcelain.
We reuse broken or chipped ceramics that are no longer in use, apply Kintsugi, and transform them into accessories.
Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, thereby generating new possibilities.
We paired fragments of adult-like blue Arita porcelain with the natural stones apatite and malachite.
The sides of the porcelain fragments are adorned with Kintsugi, so the gold accents are visible from the side, adding a touch of elegance.
The metal fittings are made of brass with 14K gold plating, making them allergy-friendly, resistant to tarnish, and durable for long-term enjoyment.
The ring size is 17mm (generally considered size 13 in Japan, though this can vary by brand), but it features an adjustable design, allowing it to be expanded for a comfortable fit for anyone.
Size of porcelain fragment and natural stone motif: 19 x 15mm
Metal fittings: Brass with 14K gold plating (allergy-friendly)
Weight: Despite being made of porcelain fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind accessory, it makes for a perfect gift.
Consider it for a special present for your loved ones.
*The item pictured will be sent. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in the color, pattern, and size of the porcelain fragments and natural stones from those shown in the photos.
* "Kintsugi" is a traditional Japanese repair technique that uses lacquer and gold powder to mend broken or chipped ceramics. This work is created using a contemporary, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi with natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
The Kintsugi parts are made with lacquer (a manufacturer-produced paint, not raw urushi) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
