[Product Story]
The design inspiration for Tova originated from the design duo Mentsen. While working in their studio, they had leftover wooden offcuts and needed a small step stool to reach items on a high shelf. Drawing from the minimalist structure of Max Bill’s classic Ulm stool, Mentsen developed a few simple step stools to address their needs. It wasn't until a friend discovered it and wanted to gift it to her daughter, Tova, so she could reach the bathroom sink, that the stool evolved further. After continuous refinement and simplification, Tova emerged in its current minimalist geometric form.
Its simple, everyday block-like shape makes it exceptionally well-suited for various locations around the house. Whether in the kitchen or study for reaching higher items, or as a functional stool by the entryway or a bedside table, its utility shines through.
