After traveling around Europe, she could never forget the beauty of Taiwan. In 2017, she gave birth to her first child, An. She deeply wished that her child, growing up in the UK, would remember Taiwan as his root. Thus, after founding Soarppy in the UK, she decided to use her hometown, Taiwan, as the theme. Taiwan, despite its small size, is home to over two hundred towering mountains and boasts rich natural resources. It is a blessing to live in Taiwan and feel the protection and beauty of its high mountains. When the three children get together, their running resembles the joyful flight of elves. Thus, we incorporated the three elves into the picture book. For their appearance, we discussed with the Qing team and decided to use geometric, design-oriented illustration techniques to form their initial shapes, designed to suit the characteristics of elves. To us, every child who comes into this world is a unique little elf. The team applied their keen aesthetic insight and involved the children in the process, creating charming illustrations with an island character from a pure and simple perspective. During the illustration process, the team researched Taiwan's five peaks and discovered that these five magnificent mountains each have their own beautiful stories. While studying them, it felt as if they were personally visiting the mountains, deeply moved by all aspects of nature once again. Living in Taiwan, we are constantly sheltered by its majestic mountains and can admire their breathtaking scenery.
