**Theme: "Forests of Life"**
Imagine soaring with the wings of a bird over Taiwan's verdant mountains, forests, and fertile fields. For 2026, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency introduces a brand-new themed calendar, "Forests of Life," showcasing Taiwan's magnificent "large-scale landscapes." Through vivid and delicate illustrations, the calendar presents diverse habitat types—forests, streams, farmlands, villages, ponds, fish farms, wetlands, and springs—inviting readers on a journey to explore Taiwan's rich natural topography. It also highlights distinctive flora and fauna and related habitat conservation issues, emphasizing Taiwan's unique biological resources and drawing attention to habitat preservation. With multi-angled perspectives—from aerial views to looking up from streams or gazing from sea level—a journey across space is about to unfold, guiding everyone to overlook Taiwan's diverse ecosystems.
The concept of the "National Ecological Network Conservation Belt" might still be unfamiliar and difficult for the general public to grasp. The Forestry and Conservation Agency explains that the theme for the "Forests of Life" calendar was conceived by Director-General Lin Hwa-ching and meticulously planned with colleagues, including monthly themes and imagery. Creative agency Jiri Creative then invited five illustrators, each with a distinct style—Page Tsou, Croter Hung, Cindy Wume, Jia Dong Lin, and Yihsin Wu—to collaborate on the 2026 "Forests of Life" calendar, perfectly interpreting and translating the theme with their unique creativity and hand-drawing skills.
