※This is the page for “Kyokusui (Gold)”. ◾️Kyokusui The name comes from the traditional Japanese event “Kyokusui no En” (Feast of the Winding Stream). “Kyokusui no En” is a classical poetry gathering held in a garden with a stream. Participants sit along the stream, and as a sake cup flows past them, they must compose a poem before the cup passes by. After drinking the sake, they send the cup downstream. The poems are then read aloud in a separate hall. (This is an excerpt from Kojien, 2nd Edition.) Unlike our previous designs like Ritsu no Kaze and Houkiboshi, this piece features a softer, more flowing line. It reminded me of a peaceful garden dappled in sunlight, perfect for a relaxed poetry gathering—hence the name “Kyokusui.” The Kyokusui no En was said to be held from the Nara to Heian periods. Participants would dress in elegant garments like jūnihitoe, compose poems, and enjoy sake—a truly graceful and refined tradition. ◾️Kazuki Edo A metal mesh craftsman who sells around 5,000 twig accessories annually. Minimal care is required—just wipe any dirt gently; no polishing is necessary. Each piece is made from a single wire, bent in one continuous stroke, creating a seamless and elegant design.
