Warm white earthenware with a satisfyingly rustic texture. A gently off-white matte glaze, paired with three glazes that evoke the colors of spring. These elements are combined to create this soup cup. During firing, the glazes merged, forming a soft, flowing pattern of colors. The colors and patterns shift with the angle of view, offering a variety of beautiful scenes to enjoy. The interior primarily uses the matte glaze, allowing you to appreciate the colors even with clear, consommé-based soups. Perfect for creamy potage, hearty vegetable soups, or vibrant minestrone. It can also be used as a dessert cup, serving ice cream with fruit. We hope you enjoy using it with a wide array of dishes. The creation process involves preparing the clay, shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing—all done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. Its plump, rounded form, soft texture, and a slight comforting weight evoke the character of pottery. While mass production isn't possible, each piece has its own unique expression, offering the distinct charm of handmade items. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. The base has been carefully sanded to minimize any potential scratching of your table. I experiment with various clay bodies and glazes, constantly seeking the best combinations to create pottery in diverse colors and shapes. To prevent this, we apply a water-blocking treatment to all our tableware before shipping, so there is no need for you to perform a preliminary soaking (mezome). This treatment requires 2-3 days to complete, hence the shipping period of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - We strive to ensure product images are as close to the actual item as possible through photography and editing. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
