Earrings with Pale Purple Dogo Donuts, Abundant Garnets, Blue Beads, and Ethnic Bells

These earrings are crafted by linking pale purple Dogo donuts, abundant garnets, blue beads, and ethnic bells. The ring-shaped beads, said to have originated in Holland (or possibly Venice or Germany...), traveled to West Africa and were passed down to the Dogon people of Mali. They are known as Dutch donuts or Dogon donuts. The soft purple hue is truly captivating. The colors and shapes differ slightly between the left and right earrings. As these are antique beads, they bear some minor imperfections, which only add to their endearing charm (circa 19th century). (Dogo donut size: diameter 1.3cm) Three types of faceted garnets in varying sizes are clustered like ripe fruit. These include garnets from Mozambique and rhodolite garnets. The blue beads are antique beads known as Indopacific beads. The origins of Indopacific beads are believed to date back to the 2nd century BC. These particular beads are unearthed artifacts from Indonesia, dating back an astonishing 1000 years to around the 10th century! They are interspersed with 18k gold-plated Karen silver. The small bells are components from the Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan, likely from decorative items, and are also antique. They do not produce sound.
