Original Acrylic Painting on Canvas Restart Series #2 Sakura in Full Bloom

Hand-painted with acrylic gouache on an M4 size canvas (190mmx333mm). Finished with a matte varnish to protect the painted surface. This is a one-of-a-kind original painting. The Story: This canvas was originally purchased 10 years ago. After finishing only the base layer, it had been tucked away in my closet for a long decade—until I finally rediscovered it. It felt as if the canvas itself had been waiting for the day I would pick up my brush again. This is the second of the two canvases I found from that time. I wanted to create this piece in sync with Japan's cherry blossom season. In my home of Fukuoka, the blossoms reach their peak from late March to early April. This composition is a "Sakura version" of a piece I created over 10 years ago, reimagined with my current skills. I especially love the dynamism of the twin tails and the dress adorned with cherry blossoms. For the background, I carefully arranged the flowers to evoke the elegant layout of a traditional Japanese Kimono pattern.
