White earthenware clay, known for its porous texture characteristic of ceramics, enhances the vibrancy of the glazes. This single-flower vase is created by combining a glaze that yields an indescribable muted blue with a matte, deep brown glaze. Where the two glazes overlap, they interact during firing, creating unique patterns. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, trimming, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my studio, equipped with an electric potter's wheel and a small electric kiln. It's crafted with the aim of creating a flower vase that offers a charming, rounded silhouette, a simple yet sophisticated ceramic feel, and a clean, elegant presence. Due to the porous nature of ceramic, a water-stopping agent has been applied. This treatment has been confirmed to prevent water seepage for approximately 40 hours. However, there's a possibility of slight moisture appearing at the base due to evaporation. If this is a concern, placing a fabric coaster underneath can ensure comfortable use. I explore various glazes and clay types, constantly seeking the best combinations to create ceramics in a wide range of colors and forms.
