Vintage Singer 99K mechanical sewing machine

Vintage Singer 99K mechanical sewing machine. Isaac Merritt Singer invented the world's first practical sewing machine in 1850 in the United States. Since then, the name Singer has been synonomous with sewing, and the fact that 100+ year old sewing machines are still used today, is testimony to their quality. We therefore recommend it is used for decorative purposes only and not its originally intended purpose. The bobbin winder friction ring is a little worn but seems to work fine. The body of the machine is in quite condition, given its age, with signs of aging and usage, such as surface marks, oxidation and wear on the metal. The wooden base has a layer of fabric, which is worn and has come loose in certain places. The case has a bakelite handle and also has some wear on the fabric as well as a couple of chips off the wood. The case closes properly, although care needs to be taken that it is properly locked before handling. The photographs are a part of the description.
