The history of J & G Meakin Ltd can be traced back to the 1850s with the manufacturer of earthenware at the Eagle Pottery, and the company remained in the Meakin family up until 1968. Meakin and Midwinter Potteries subsequently merged and the combined company became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1970.
Based on the mark at the bottom of these pieces, they were made after 1970. The lidded bowls are in very good condition with some minor signs of usage and the usual small production flaws, the inner lid of one of the pots has some slight craquelure.
