These are SDGs jewelry featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from Arita ware. Broken or chipped ceramic pieces that are no longer in use are upcycled, finished with Kintsugi, and transformed into accessories. The concept behind these creations is to allow people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and bring forth new possibilities. Elegant Japanese patterned ceramic fragments are adorned with morganite. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the ceramic fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer even from the side, adding a touch of sophistication. These pieces are perfect as a statement accent for both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique; therefore, unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses tree sap lacquer, adhesive is used for the bonding itself. For the Kintsugi parts, lacquer (a commercially produced paint, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder) are used, along with UV resin for reinforcement.
