Gemstone hardness: 5.00 - 6.00. After sodalite was discovered in Canada, Princess Patricia visited the Ontario lake mine and subsequently selected some sodalite for decoration, leading to its being called "Princess Blue." The best way to care for sterling silver jewelry is to wear it daily. The natural oils from your skin can maintain the silver's warm luster. However, due to individual body chemistry (pH balance), some people's silver will become brighter with wear, while others may find it oxidizes more easily, turning yellow or black. This does not affect the intrinsic quality of sterling silver. If oxidation occurs, simply wipe it with the included silver polishing cloth, or gently brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste, then rinse with cold water and dry.
