From the 1920s-30s, Hungary's largest pen manufacturer in Budapest,
Joseph Schuler Co. Ltd., a post-WWI creation.
(The company was renamed IGY and nationalized in 1948.)
Due to production volume and wartime instability,
Atlantic nibs are rarely found on the market today.
Atlantic 518 EF Extra antique dip nib.
Smooth and springy, it's ideal for everyday writing.
Not recommended for English calligraphy, as more suitable nibs exist.
Writing sample shown used: Paper One 100g copy paper with Staedtler green ink.
(A rare, vintage item, not a modern reproduction. Available while supplies last.)
Important Usage Notes:
1. No need to heat or scrub with a toothbrush before use. If it comes into contact with hand oils, simply wash with a neutral detergent (hand soap).
2. Some nibs may have horizontal or vertical scratches near the tip from the factory; this was done intentionally to ensure immediate usability upon purchase and is not a defect.
3. If oil contamination causes poor ink adhesion or flow issues (e.g., from touching with hands or wax on paper), simply wash gently with soap, rinse, dry, and it will be ready for use.
4. Wash and dry the nib as soon as possible after use. Allow it to air dry completely before storing to prevent rusting.
5. Minor rust on the pen body does not affect writing. Rust on the nib itself, however, will impact its performance.
6. As an antique item over 50 years old, some signs of age are expected. There may be slight rust on the tail end of the nib, but not on the writing tip itself, ensuring writing quality is unaffected.
