Having dogs and cats at home and being obsessed with animals led me to wonder: wouldn't it be wonderful to paint the animals I love into my daily life, so that art is not just for viewing but also a daily companion? Thus, I combined hand-painting with porcelain, preserving each cute, mischievous, and unique animal on ceramic plates and mugs. Since establishing my studio in 2014, I have hand-painted over a thousand pieces. Every stroke is drawn by hand, making each piece possess its own expression and story—truly one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. In the future, I wish to continue this journey of animal-themed porcelain art, painting my love for animals into life and allowing this small animal kingdom to travel even further. **Starting from a piece of porcelain, let the animals you love stay in your life.** https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960408151_3c8d83bc60_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960687694_ac70bf7604_z.jpg ## Custom Work Q&A **Q| How do I order a custom piece?** In addition to the original designs in the gallery, Nien also offers animal porcelain painting customization services to turn your beloved pets, animals, and memories into collectible porcelain works. Customization Process: Message Nien, providing the photos you would like painted, the style of the porcelain, and your custom requirements. Discuss composition, text, and details with Nien to confirm the content. Once confirmed, Nien will create a private order page. After payment, your piece will be scheduled for production. It is recommended to provide clear photos with good lighting that clearly show the animal's features, fur color, and characteristics so that Nien can capture their unique appearance in detail. **Q| What is the cost of a custom piece?** Basic custom content includes: **One animal subject + decorative elements (flowers, butterflies, etc.) + custom text** Reference pricing: ・6-inch plate/mug | From NT$1,200 ・7-inch plate | From NT$1,500 ・8-inch plate | From NT$1,900 ・Adding a second animal to the same piece | From +NT$500 For special compositions, complex backgrounds, multiple animals, or other unique requests, a separate quote will be provided based on the actual design. **Q| How long does production take?** Each piece is painted by hand by Nien. From composition and painting to kiln-firing for color fixation, everything takes time to complete carefully. General production time is approximately **14 working days or more**. Actual delivery dates may vary depending on current order volume and the complexity of the piece. If you have a birthday, anniversary, or a specific gift date, it is recommended to message us to check the schedule before placing an order. **Q| How do I care for my porcelain art?** To ensure your piece stays with you for a long time, we recommend: ・Wash gently using a soft sponge and mild detergent. ・Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners. ・It is not recommended to use a dishwasher or microwave. ・Avoid soaking or scrubbing the painted surface vigorously for long periods. With careful use and storage, your hand-painted piece will retain its colors and texture for longer. **Q| Are the paints used safe?** Nien uses German-made porcelain painting pigments, and all pieces are kiln-fired to fix the colors after completion. As these pieces are primarily intended for art and collection, we recommend avoiding direct contact between the painted patterns and hot food. Plate pieces are recommended as **dessert plates, cold food plates, or home decor items**; they can also be displayed with a stand or collected as wall art. Each piece is not just a vessel, but a small painting that preserves a story for you. **Q| How are the porcelain pieces shipped?** Every piece of porcelain is carefully wrapped before shipment, using cushioning materials for full protection, and boxed in a way suitable for fragile items to minimize the risk of collision and breakage during transport. The products will be shipped via courier service to ensure they reach your hands safely. * Thanks to Cat's Life magazine for the interview. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51959458687_933f7001a3_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51961027975_bc25138d01_z.jpg
