◎ Six-line wood, also known as Dragon Subduing wood. It grows in the sacred Buddhist site of Mount Wutai. Each bead features six naturally formed patterns, symbolizing the Six-Syllable Mantra (Om Mani Padme Hum), and also carries the meaning of the "Six Realms of Rebirth," with connotations of protecting the home and warding off evil.
Derong Collections' Craftsmanship Standards for Six-Line Wood:
1. Due to the high density and hardness of six-line wood, dry grinding with machinery can easily cause cracks. Our exquisite craftsmanship involves a semi-mechanical, semi-handcrafted process for shaping the beads, with particular attention to the integrity of the bead holes. In contrast, ordinary quality may have issues with misaligned bead holes.
2. "Full Pattern" means "full grain." This involves using old-stock six-line wood material for bead shaping. The color is deeper than that of new seeds, and the patterns are more distinct.
3. Many six-line woods with "green" lines are new material. Mature seeds are brown, have better density, and are easier to polish. Full-patterned six-line wood develops a rich patina after polishing, becoming more lustrous and brown.
It can be said that six-line wood is a representative of meticulous craftsmanship! Friends who enjoy transformation can consider new-stock six-line wood or Xingyue Bodhi, both of which undergo stages of color change and patina development.
Historically, due to different meditative practices, much six-line wood underwent natural dyeing processes with "cinnabar offerings" and "yak butter offerings." Otherwise, the most original color of six-line wood is white, which turns brown after polishing.

Buddhist Significance of Six-Line Wood:
Six-line wood, also known as Dragon Subduing wood.
In Tibetan Buddhism, blessed by the lineage founder of the Gelug school of Esoteric Buddhism, Master Tsongkhapa, the six white lines represent the six wisdom swords of Bodhisattva Manjushri, which can sever the afflictions of sentient beings. The six lines (six patterns) also represent the Six-Syllable Mantra (Heart Sutra of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva): Om Mani Padme Hum. Therefore, it is the ideal prayer bead for chanting the holy name of Bodhisattva Manjushri, the mantra of Bodhisattva Manjushri, and the heart mantra of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (the Six-Syllable Mantra). It also has the legend of "borrowing the Six Realms to transcend the Six Realms." In Esoteric Buddhism, it is also an ideal prayer bead for practices related to the wrathful deities associated with Bodhisattva Manjushri. Many monastic practitioners in the Mahayana tradition also favor wearing it.
