│ About Opal │
Do you know about Opal? It's also known as moonstone. Does its brilliance strike you as somewhat ethereal and almost unreal at first impression?
After falling in love with and learning about opals, I discovered they are gemstones with a soul and moods of their own.
Their beautiful iridescence appears and disappears with the environment,
requiring a touch of care and attention, like a delicate bloom, to reveal its aurora-like fire.
_
The name "opal" is derived from the Latin word "OPALUS," meaning "to combine the beauty of all gemstones."
The ancient Roman naturalist Pliny once said: "In a single opal, you can see the flame of a ruby, the color spots of an amethyst, the green sea of an emerald, all in one, wonderfully beautiful."
_
Opal is recognized by the international jewelry industry as October's birthstone, symbolizing hope and happiness.
Opal symbolizes the rainbow, bringing a bright future to its owner.
It also subtly signifies pure love,
bringing days of hope and simple purity.
│ Care Instructions │
◇ African opals dislike humid environments ◇
In overly humid conditions, their iridescence may become subdued. (This is why their colors might appear more delicate in winter and richer in summer.)
◇ Therefore, remember to keep them away from water. If they do get wet, don't worry too much. Place them in a dry environment to air dry naturally, or gently dry them with the cool setting of a hairdryer, and their brilliance will return!
◇ To clean opals, simply gently wipe them with a clean, soft cloth.
◇ Avoid contact with chemicals such as detergents, perfumes, and soaps.
Opals have a low hardness, so it's recommended to remove them before exercising or doing household chores to prevent scratches.
◇ Do not expose them to high temperatures or environments with sudden temperature changes, as this can damage the opal.
Avoid wearing opals while swimming, showering, or soaking in hot springs.
Opals must be kept away from high heat, hot water, and environments that are too humid or too dry.
◇ For opals worn frequently, they can be stored directly in a soft cloth pouch.
If they will not be worn for a long time, store them in a zip-lock bag.
◇ In areas or seasons with very dry air, place a slightly damp cotton ball inside the zip-lock bag to maintain a gentle humidity!
◇ Regular maintenance is necessary. For opals not worn for a long time, remember to take them out periodically and gently wipe them with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water. This allows the gemstone to absorb a little moisture before being stored in a zip-lock bag.
_
These are all natural characteristics of opals. They are gemstones that require care,
much like plants, easily influenced by their surroundings. With nourishment and care, they will accompany you for a long time.
│ Special Notes │
◇ African opals are gemstones that require careful handling. Avoid prolonged or frequent contact with water, as severe exposure can lead to a loss of their iridescence.
◇ Not suitable for wearing while bathing, cleaning, or swimming.
◇ For opals worn frequently, they can be stored directly in a soft cloth pouch.
If they will not be worn for a long time, store them in a zip-lock bag.
