Inspiration:
Fifteen years ago, the author's wife recounted a dream she had the previous night about their white-and-orange tabby cat, Chi-Chi, traveling by train. This sparked the inspiration for "Chi-Chi and the Dream Train." In late 2012, the author began outlining parts of the story and started writing during breaks from work. The fantastical and imaginative nature of the story led to a slow creative process. During this time, the author embarked on another project, "Old Cat Sanatorium," which was published in 2019. The experience of writing "Chi-Chi and the Dream Train" led the author to fall in love with the cultural and creative publishing industry, prompting the establishment of "Mao Mao Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd." dedicated to cat-themed story creation.
In 2020, after publishing "Sister's Hairstyle Leader: Legend of the Cat Beggars," Mao Mao Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd. revisited the "Chi-Chi and the Dream Train" project. The three-quarters of the manuscript already completed was revised, and the story illustrations began to be drawn. Finally, in 2021, a 95,000-word, 39-illustration, 272-page full-color novel was completed and published in January 2022.
