This sake cup is carefully crafted on a potter's wheel using Shigaraki clay rich in feldspar. The characteristic scarlet hue of Shigaraki ware is achieved in a gas kiln. Due to high-temperature firing, the coarse stones within the clay melt and emerge on the surface. After firing, each stone on the surface is meticulously hand-polished for a smooth finish. The natural texture of the clay feels comfortable in your hand, enhancing the taste of sake, tea, and other beverages. You can enjoy how the colors and expressions deepen with use.
