X800 (Magnetic Cap): The 3952 Old Goat signature flagship pen, featuring an exclusive patented rotating magnetic cap design. A world-first, the patented airtight rotating magnetic cap! The cap and barrel are crafted from 925 sterling silver, presenting a noble sterling silver aesthetic that's a must-have collectible for enthusiasts of precious metal materials. This pen is complemented by gunmetal grey electroplated accents, an airtight cap, and a special flexible spring mechanism pocket clip.
The nib utilizes a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, handcrafted and adjusted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing varying line widths. It allows for a unique brushstroke-like expression, offering a distinct writing feel with greater flexibility than standard calligraphy steel nibs. Should you wish to change the nib type, please message the designer privately to confirm, thank you. (Note: Changing to different nibs may incur additional charges, with prices potentially increasing or decreasing.)
**Gift Set Includes: German SCHMIDT K2 ink converter (ink not included) + Old Goat Special Edition Moonlight Treasure Box (a unique fountain pen display box, handcrafted from mango wood with inlaid gold-colored brass, exuding a classical and luxurious charm).**
Fountain Pen Dimensions: Total length approx. 146mm, barrel and grip section length approx. 106mm, maximum diameter (excluding clip) approx. 16.5mm, total weight (excluding nib) approx. 59g.
Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the pen body to prevent ink backflow into the barrel after writing). After a period of writing and adjustment, you may then use the converter for inking.
2. This calligraphy nib is crafted by grinding and adjusting an EF nib to create a curved tip that produces varying line widths not solely by pressure, but by the angle of the pen in hand, utilizing the nib's arc to create thickness variations. Holding the pen at a more upright angle results in less contact area with the paper, producing finer lines. As the pen angle becomes more oblique or with slight added pressure, the contact area increases, yielding broader strokes. Achieving variable line widths depends on your proficiency (each nib has a limit to the pressure it can withstand; avoid excessive force to prevent nib damage or misalignment. Using a soft writing pad under the paper is recommended).
In support of environmental sustainability, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If a gift bag is required, please specify this in the order notes after placing your order, thank you.
Images are for reference only; the product is a single pen. Some photos may exhibit slight color variations due to lighting and angles; the actual product prevails.
Note: Regularly clean and maintain the inside of the barrel and cap. When resting, avoid storing the pen with the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down or writing with the nib angled excessively to the left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This helps prevent accidental iridium point misalignment, which can lead to scratching or ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink buildup and blockages that could affect writing quality.
Helpful Tip: The surface of silver naturally oxidizes over time with exposure to air, causing it to darken. This can be easily restored to a sparkling finish using a standard silver polishing cloth (the maintenance method is the same as for general silver items).
