About the Ware • Handmade, each piece is unique due to differences in clay, glaze, firing temperature, and method. • Due to numerous variables during firing, slight deformation of the rim may occur, which is normal. • Glaze is applied by hand, resulting in uneven thickness and unique effects for each piece. • Small pinholes, air bubbles, or particles may occasionally appear on the glaze surface; these are not defects and cannot be returned or exchanged. • If the glaze has a crackling effect, fine cracks will appear. Storing dark-colored foods may cause staining, which is also a characteristic of the glaze. ⸻ About Crackling • Also known as "craquelure" or "ice crackle," it occurs due to the different shrinkage rates of the ceramic body and glaze. The cracks are only in the glaze layer; the body itself is flawless. • Some cracks appear within a week after firing, while others may take years to manifest.
