The delicate balance of glaze thickness, combined with firing at 1260°C for 20 hours, subjects the cups to intense heat. Within the kiln, the material shrinks and flows, creating the intricate patterns and sense of movement reminiscent of a peacock's feathers. The challenge in its creation lies in precisely controlling the thickness of each glaze layer and adjusting the temperature curve. Glazes that are too thin or fired at insufficient temperatures will fail to produce the peacock feather motif. Conversely, glazes that are too thick or fired at excessive temperatures can cause the glaze to run onto the supporting surface, potentially damaging both the teacup and the kiln shelf. Even ambient temperature variations can influence the final outcome. Despite years of dedicated study, the unpredictable nature of these elements means achieving absolute precision remains elusive. It is precisely this complexity that imbues each finished piece with its unique preciousness. It is my hope that through this work, individuals will be inspired to face challenges with unwavering hope and persistent effort, ultimately blossoming like a peacock, illuminating their lives with vibrant beauty.
