Exposure to rain, sweat, and air can deepen its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, you can prevent it by following these tips: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a resealable bag when not being worn. If the luster appears to dim, here are a few simple methods to restore your item's original shine. Please note that if the brass is scratched, while its color can be restored, its original shine may not be fully recovered (the matte, aged bronze look of vintage pieces is also quite beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing your teeth. This can restore the brass's luster. Be sure to thoroughly dry the item afterward. ♦ Use a silver polishing cloth for a quick restoration of shine (not applicable to brushed finishes). ♦ Squeeze lemon juice and dilute it.
