Our own brand "Veganpi Leather" pineapple leaf leather tote bag is handmade in Taiwan using Pinatex, a plant-based leather (vegan leather) made from pineapple leaves imported from Ananas Anam, a Spanish company. This material was developed by Dr. Carmen Hijosa of the Royal College of Art in the UK, who extracted fibers from pineapple leaves and treated them with wax and embossing to create a leather-like appearance. This environmentally friendly material emphasizes non-violence and carbon reduction, replacing animal-based leather. It not only revitalizes the agricultural waste of pineapple leaves but also does not produce toxic substances during the production process. After the product life cycle ends, the material can decompose and return to nature, promoting environmental protection and mitigating climate change for future generations. Spanish Pinatex pineapple leaf leather meets EU environmental standards and can decompose naturally after the product life cycle ends. 2. Pineapple leaf leather has a water-repellent surface. 3. The leather product is hand-sewn in Taiwan with wax thread for durability, unlike machine-sewn products, which are difficult to repair after the thread comes loose. 4. The pineapple leaf leather tote bag is very light, weighing only about 450 grams. 5. "Veganpi Leather" provides a permanent repair station. 6. Pineapple leaf leather can be maintained with baby oil. Please apply the baby oil to a clean cloth before wiping the leather surface. Do not apply the oil directly to the leather surface. Important notes before ordering: 1. Pineapple leaf leather is a plant-based fiber material with a different texture than smooth leather. 2. Plant-based leather is a natural material that may contain impurities, which can cause dyeing defects during the dyeing process. 3. Hand-sewn products may have occasional defects such as crooked stitching or loose threads. 4. Colors may vary due to photography or other factors.
