Juntei Kannon / Kishoten
These are Mokujiki Buddha statues from the Dainihonzan Houkouji Temple in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Mokujiki Shonin visited this area after over 20 years of creating Buddha statues, marking a mature period of his artistic career. It is said that this was when his characteristic smile began to appear. The life-sized statue was meticulously carved to palm-sized proportions, capturing the soul of Mokujiki Shonin, who was deeply connected to the lives of ordinary people.

- The core material of "TanaCOCORO[掌] WOOD" is Hinoki (Japanese cypress). It allows for soft and flexible carving, with a warm texture that gives the sculpture a unique and special feel. The smooth surface, which doesn’t highlight the wood grain, makes it suitable for a variety of coloring techniques, and it is an ideal material for mass production.
