In that era, motorcycles were broadly categorized into "civilian" (文車) and "military" (武車) types. Civilian bikes were for commuting, while military bikes were for transport and cargo. Their advantages in high torque and load capacity weren't just limited to agriculture; they extended to industry and commerce, even spawning a cottage industry of modifying them into three-wheeled vehicles. As times evolved, these civilian and military bikes gradually disappeared from modern streets. Coupled with the rise of environmental awareness in recent years, many cities have banned two-stroke motorcycles. These retired "civilian and military generals" were fortunate to be collected by vintage vehicle enthusiasts. Others, however, met their fate in what's colloquially known as a "scrapping yard" (Note 1), destined to be dismantled. Note 1: A "scrapping yard" refers to a "used motorcycle and car parts recycling center." Today, car enthusiasts jokingly call it "the department store for men." Thus, "The Rider's Eye" was born! We take headlight assemblies from old "military" bikes sourced from scrapping yards. Through design and processes like turning, milling, welding, and grinding, we transform them into various components, creating industrial-style articulated desk lamps. Vintage motorcycles accompanied Taiwan through its most challenging times, journeying with every rider through mountains and seas, forging countless roads, and creating an economic miracle! The Rider's Eye not only illuminates spaces but also perpetuates the soul of these old bikes and transmits the Taiwanese spirit of diligence, resilience, and perseverance from a bygone era! The upgraded 2.0 version introduces several engaging design enhancements while preserving more of the original components' integrity. Key improvements include: 《Speedometer Dial Lights Up》 In the 2.0 version, the speedometer is no longer just decorative. It now lights up in sync with the power, enhancing the overall completeness. 《Control Light with the Motorcycle Key》 By integrating the original ignition switch and wiring harness with the lamp's wiring, the light can be turned on and off using the motorcycle key. It offers two levels of adjustment: 1. Headlight only illuminates; 2. Speedometer light illuminates simultaneously. 《Optional Headlight Grille》 The headlight grille allows enthusiasts to add a more personalized rider style. It is currently available in chrome-plated and black painted finishes. Please specify your preference when ordering. 《Reinforced Joints and Base for Load Bearing》 To securely support the moderately heavy lamp head, we've adjusted the design of the joints and base. The joints now use male and female fasteners instead of standard screws, allowing users to easily adjust the angle manually while minimizing the chance of loosening.
