How long has it been since you last opened a physical book and immersed yourself in reading? We hope this bookmark serves as the beginning of your collection, inviting you back into the world of literature.
Iron window grilles were introduced to Taiwan around the 1920s. Crafted from black iron through intricate processes, they are a form of folk decorative art. The patterns of these grilles were not standardized, entirely dependent on the artisan's ingenuity. Geometric designs, often composed of straight lines or arcs, were most common. Thus, each window grille can be considered a unique, "hand-customized" artwork by the master craftsman. However, as machine-produced galvanized steel windows gradually replaced iron window grilles, their creation began to fade into history. To revive the beauty of these handcrafted window grilles, we have adopted a metal material – copper – and employed etching techniques, thereby recreating the spirit of the original window grilles.
