ARSENAL PLANT, KIEV, 1982 HELIOS-103 53mm F1.8 LENS for KIEV AND CONTAX RANGEFINDER CAMERAS ABOUT ITEM'S ORIGIN (You can SKIP it!) Helios-103 is a normal angle (standard) coated lens for Kiev, Contax and Bessa-2RC rangefinder cameras. Presented lens was issued to replace old Jupiter-8M lenses at Soviet Kiev cameras, this lens provides better image quality than old lens, especially with color films. The Helios-103 is a variation of the Zeiss Biotar type. The design is most close to the Leica Summicron 2/50mm of the third calculation in 1979. In the main, most all Soviet lenses are exceptionally good and this one is no exception! ITEM'S CONDITION: near MINT The lens looks almost never used before and mostly stored since 1980s. The glass is very clean, without any separations, scratches or fungus, but very minor cleaning marks sometimes can be found. Aperture blades open and close smoothly. The lens looks fine cosmetically, just examine item's photos, please. All functions are available. TECHNICAL FEATURES * Brand: Arsenal. * Model: Helios-103. * Focus: 53 mm. * Angle of view: 44 degrees. * Relative aperture: 1:1.8. * Aperture: from 1.8 up to 22 (with clicks). There is two aperture scales to make more convenient aperture readout at different distances, installed at the lens. * Resolution: (in pairs of lines per 1mm, for fully opened aperture) not less than 55 in the center and 28 on the edge of frame. * Mounting: Contax-Kiev type internal bayonet. * Focusing: the lens have no any focusing system inside. It is situated inside internal Contax or Kiev bayonet at the camera, which have own focusing system. * Adapters: adapters with focusing system for other lens mounts can be found at eBay or elsewhere, but those adapters can looks expensive.
