There's a small story behind why we decided to represent this brand.
In late 2024, just before a scheduled business trip to Korea, a sudden lockdown was announced. It was lifted just before our flight, and we arrived in Korea safely. However, upon arriving, we found ourselves trapped in a subway car. Protesters were flooding in, pushing us until we could barely breathe and couldn't move. We were almost suspended in the air. All we could think was, "What do we do? Will this turn into a stampede?" We kept encouraging each other to stay calm, to find ways to breathe, to keep our heads up, and most importantly, to stand firm and not fall. Thankfully, after a few stops, the overwhelming crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, leaving us shaken and in tears.
A few stops later, we exited the subway and unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the storm of emotions we had just experienced. We, who were lost and frightened, felt as though we had found solid ground again.
From the bottom of our hearts, we truly believe it's wonderful to have cats in the world.
Hyejin's cat artworks are such treasures.
And so, this unexpected representation came to be. 🤍

Hyejin's style blends modern sensibilities with traditional Korean techniques, creating art through slow, deliberate creation and hand-painting.
We are deeply fond of the retro, nostalgic feel in his works, reminiscent of the folk painting scrolls from Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

Every stroke meticulously outlines incredibly detailed elements, creating pieces that invite prolonged admiration.
Creating art with traditional Korean craftsmanship requires immense patience. The artist applies color layer by layer, achieving rich depth and saturated, profound hues.
Even tiny butterflies and grasshoppers are rendered with exquisite detail and soul.

Each painting captures the essence of cats sharing our space. The cats' "unhurried pace" and "quiet companionship" embody the message the artist wishes to convey.
Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade.

Hyejin primarily uses his own cats as his muses, depicting them as both mischievous and sharp-eyed, embodying a perfectly "fierce yet cute" and characterful feline presence. There's a sense of conflict and harmony, a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity.
By incorporating contemporary artistic styles and characters, he portrays the lives and thoughts of animals within traditional art.
He utilizes techniques like *Gongbi* (meticulous brushwork) and employs Korean paper (*Hanji*), which is less commonly seen in the market. This paper lends a warm overall tone to the artwork, while the intricate *Gongbi* lines add exquisite detail.

This warm feeling, this unique combination, allows contemporary painting styles to blend seamlessly.
