An original creation by Bunun artist Mr. Chuan De-Fu (Laung).
"Kalun" is the Bunun word for pangolin.
The artwork depicts "Kalun" the pangolin journeying through the mountains back to its village, sensing the spirit in all things, and the flow of life through soil, water, and air in a symbiotic existence. Its gentlest yet most steadfast belief is to protect the mountains and forests. Through anthropomorphic design and traditional tribal attire, it embodies a sincere and endearing image, while conveying the spirit of cherishing endangered animals and revering nature.
