It is considered an environmentally friendly leather. ● Color Transformation of Vegetable-Tanned Leather For natural (undyed) vegetable-tanned leather, the color deepens and develops a richer luster and suppleness over time with use. For dyed vegetable-tanned leather, non-polluting pigments are used for dyeing in the most natural way. While black may not show the same dramatic color change as natural leather, it will still develop a beautiful, lustrous sheen with prolonged use. The most common marks include insect bites, growth lines, brands, and scars (holes). Scars (holes) are typically avoided in production.
