Losing her hearing at a very young age, in a world without sound, she found peace in knitting. I grew up wearing my mother's handmade, loving creations: brimmed hats, knitted vests, long scarves. My mother's handmade knits warmed me through every winter. Each piece was one-of-a-kind, each inch tailored, and I never thought it was particularly special. Until I saw her graying hair and the calluses on her fingers, watching her knit piece after piece, only to put them away. I felt compelled to do something for my mother, to prevent her meticulously crafted works from gathering dust in boxes. With my limited strength, I have created a small space for my beloved mother.
