At the end of 2024, just before a planned business trip to Korea, a sudden curfew was announced. It was lifted just before our flight, and after arriving safely in Korea, we found ourselves unexpectedly trapped in a subway car. Protesters were flooding in, pushing us so tightly that we could barely breathe and couldn't move – we were practically suspended in the air. We kept wondering what would happen, fearing a stampede. We encouraged each other to stay calm, to find ways to breathe, to keep our heads up, and most importantly, to stand firm and not fall. Thankfully, after a few stops, the overwhelming crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, and tears of relief streamed down our faces. A few stops later, we exited the subway and stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the turbulent storm we had just experienced. It felt as if our shaken and startled selves were firmly grounded once more. From the bottom of our hearts, we truly believe, it's wonderful to have cats in this world. Hyejin's cat creations are such treasures.
