- It is noteworthy that due to the paper shortage characteristic of the USSR, the artist used different sizes of sheets for the prints. This artwork is known in four color variations.
Alexandra Babkova (1923-2006) was a Ukrainian painter and graphic artist who worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. In 1949, she graduated from the Saratov Art School, where she studied with Ivan Shcheglov and Borys Mylovydov. Since 1954, Alexandra Babkova participated in republican, all-Union, and international art exhibitions. In 1955, she graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute, where she studied with Oleksandr Pashenko. Since 1958 she has been teaching at the Kyiv Art School. She lived in Kyiv. She became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1960. Works by Alexandra Babkova are featured in museum collections, galleries, and private collections in Ukraine and beyond.
