This jacket is a faithful recreation inspired by the RRL Suede Roughout Jacket. Unlike standard smooth leather, the Suede Roughout Jacket utilizes "Roughout Suede"—where the inner, rough-textured suede of the leather faces outward. This imparts a thicker feel, a deeper color, and develops a unique "patina effect" through friction and wear. The origins of rough suede jackets trace back to the early to mid-20th century American workwear and outdoor labor environments. Workers and riders of that era required outerwear that was exceptionally durable and resistant to prolonged use, rather than smooth leather that demanded meticulous care. By reversing the leather, the exterior becomes more resilient to scratches, and the marks from friction naturally integrate into the overall texture, accumulating unique characteristics over time and with wear. This RED TORNADO piece is tanned from 1mm thick cowhide, offering a firm hand and an excellent patina effect. All hardware is faithfully reproduced from the original design. The sleeve length has been subtly modified to better fit Asian body types, resulting in a more refined appearance.
