It has a satisfying thickness, is comfortable to hold, and has a smooth rim. Beautiful crackling appears on the interior. Because the clay of the bowl and the slip used for the inlay are different types, their shrinkage rates during firing vary. This can sometimes lead to the white clay not adhering perfectly in the incised areas, requiring numerous trials and considerable time to perfect. The deep green hue enhances the appearance of dishes and complements both Japanese and Western table settings. It can be used broadly as a rice bowl or a small dish for soup and other items.
