Matsuya's latest work, "People and Feelings and a Trip to Ise," is based on the popular pilgrimage to Ise Jingu called "Okage-mairi" during the Edo period. However, in those days when there were no convenient transportation such as trains or buses, there were many people who wanted to go but could not.
Therefore, "Okage Dog" was born to fulfill the wishes of the master.
It is said that he traveled with people who went to worship with shimenawa, letters, money, etc. hanging around their necks. One of these days, Okage-inu appeared, heading for Ise Jingu without anyone else's accompaniment. The townspeople who saw the dog are traveling. When they find the Okage-inu, they give them money, prepare a bed for them, change the coins in their heavy bag, and continue the journey to Ise Jingu. It seems that we all supported each other. It is said that they safely returned to their masters after crossing the great outdoors, highways, and mountain paths.
I arranged Okage-inu in a modern style and set it against the backdrop of Yokkaichi, one of the fifty-three stages of the Tokaido!
This was exhibited at the "Reiwa Celebration Color Exhibition" held in Yokohama in 2020!
It was created with the wish that "calm days admiring the beauty of nature will continue forever", which is included in the Reiwa celebration color.
For the paper quality, I chose a paper called Marshmallow Natural. This paper has a fine texture and is durable, and has a warm impression. It is often used for business cards.
Because it is produced in a dedicated factory, the print quality is fine and vivid even when viewed through a magnifying glass (4th photo).
In the 5th photo, I compared this work with the one printed with a general home printer (not included)!
A postcard perfect for your home or as a gift.
Size: Postcard size (148 x 100)
Paper quality: marshmallow natural
Printing is done in a specialized factory.
* The product is only a postcard. Frames are not included.
Since it is a postcard for interior use, there is no mailbox.
