Crafted from a slightly coarse white earthenware, its texture characteristic of pottery. Featuring a distinctive crystalline glaze with fine crystals scattered across a calm, brownish hue. We've combined these two elements to create this small plate. Measuring approximately 13cm in diameter, it's a size that's a bit larger than a typical mame-zara (bean dish) and a bit smaller than a standard ko-zara (small plate). It's perfect for use as a side dish plate, a dessert plate, or for serving small portions of side dishes like blanched greens or kinpira, and can also serve as a condiment dish. The colors, which evoke the natural feel of earthenware, harmonize beautifully with ingredients born from the earth. We hope you'll enjoy it with a variety of foods. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done entirely by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, offering a charm that can only come from handmade craftsmanship. The item you will receive is the same as pictured. The base of the plate has been sanded to ensure it is gentle on your table. I am constantly exploring new combinations of various glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form. Each piece is unique, appearing similar but truly one-of-a-kind. To address this, we apply a waterproof treatment to all our tableware before shipping, so there is no need for initial soaking (mezoma). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from order placement. If you do not require the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
